again, i was in bahrain on wednesday and they still haven't released Superman Returns!!!! i really got angry and i asked one of the workers "where's the manager?!" he said wait he will come in a minute.i waited for 10 min and suddnly the "manager" showed up.i was like "why you still haven't released Superman Returns?!!!" he was like "it's not my responsibility!!! we still haven't received our prints!!!!"

Lies.Lies.Lies.i've just checked imdb and Superman Returns is already out in more than 50 countries! i bet they had the prints weeks ago but they don't wanna release it since they don't have big movies left to release.

now i think of it, i wish if i came to Dubai when it was released back in July.i would've come for one day since i can travel by plane from bahrain to dubai for 140 SR only by al arabia airline.lol, wait! that's not correct! i've just checked al arabiyah website and their prices jumped from 150 SR (as i remember in 2004) to 500 something now!!! WTF?!

is Superman still playing on IMAX? until when do you think it will still be playing?

Movies on IMAX play for very long...because there aren't any titles available to replace them. I think Batman Begins played for 6 months or so, Harry Potter for 3 etc.

i agree.and i kept being rude and i replied.

me: respect to our customers? you are kidding right? ok i extremely apologize for the previous email i send and the bad words i mentioned but can you explain to me this:

1-why didn't you release Superman Returns when it was released back in JULY 26 in the gulf area?Huh??!!!!!!!! right now it has been released in over 50 countries!!!! and still it hasn't been released in bahrain.don't tell me you still haven't recieved your prints from the US.that's bullshit.the reason you haven't released Superman Returns until now is that your sales are DOWN.and you wanna get rid of as much shit movies as you can until you release Superman.now do you call that "respect for customers"?? i don't think so.

2-why do you keep the theatres very COLD and the AC on to the coldest limit ALL THE TIME?!!!! even in winter!!!!! last winter i asked one of the guys to either lower the AC or turn it off since HELLO IT'S WINTER.he didn't it.and i ended up being sick and staying at home for 4 days.ill on the bed.

3-what's with the bad customer service from the phillipino staff?? get rid of them damn it.get people who can at least say "thank you" and smile.

i know that is too much complaining for one email.lol i understand.but this is coming from a very loyal customer.who comes to al dana cinema on a regular basis.until you gimme  good enough reasons for all the problems above, i'll keep my mouth shut.

him:Well first of all I wish to thank you for apologizing.
Second here are the answers to the points you have raised:
1- Superman is just like any other movie and the movies we are releasing are no bullshit for your information: Da Vinci Code, Garfield2, Clickm The Sentinel, R.V,  etc.....Whenever it is released it is like any other american movie and we are not the owners of it. Also, just for your information we have had most of our released movies have been either prior to the uS or just a week or two later.
And for your information we have imposed the better releases of movies and the higher service standards in Bahrain like we did in UAE, because we have imposed the only competition for the monopoly being in the GCC for 35 years or more.
2- Our A/C can always be adjusted and may be at the time you mentioned, there was a time until the technician reduced it.
3- The philippino staff have been like all the staff we have, under strict supervision and if at any time, like anywhere else in the world, there has been a mishandling by one of them that does not mean that the whole service is bad.
Last but not least, I wish to thank you for being a Dana Cinema Loyal customer and I hereby confirm that we will spare no effort to keep our service standards as we have decided them to be : 5 star level .
Hope I have clarified to some extent although I am sure not to your complete satisfaction.
Regards

I thought it was great, if a bit flawed. I thought the running time was a little bit of a problem and Spacey was great, but his sarcasm starting to become grating near the end.

Speaking of Tyler Durden, why does everyone love Fight Club so much?
I like the film alot and own the CE, but it still has alot of flaws along with it(running time, the "twist", Helena Bonham Carter, Meat Loaf, etc.), I'd give it a 3.5/5.

omfg! moviemaniac doesn't know what it means to give Fight Club less than 5/5 in this messageboard.i think someone will travel to the US and shoot you in the head.

I can understand that. It's great on the first viewing, but the films flaws are alot more noticeable on the 2nd viewing.

moviemaniac, none of us here ever question the validity and impact of Fight Club. It is the barometer for coolest, hippest, most relevant social commentary of our time. I think many of us were in our very late teens, early 20's when we first saw it - at the peak of our cynical, nihilistic selves and the movie struck a chord with us like none before (or even after) it. It is definitely an age thing. It is also inexplicable. Of course you may disagree, but thats how a lot of us see it.
