You've all turned into grumpy old men, and I thought I was the one getting old here.
I find that trailer exciting enough, even with the disadvantage of viewing it on a flat screen. I agree with the comparisons with other genre films, but let's all hold our judgment until we see it in iMax 3D.

Come on Oddy, you know Cameron is one of the directors that everyone loves to hate, and he has been out of the picture for 12 years now, so this is a rare chance that we have to seize, lol. Don't be a party pooper, that's all what I'm saying

Oh no, on the contrary ayaa,
Jim Cameron
everyone loves to love. How can you hate a guy who's given us one great movie after another, and that 5 or 6 times in a row (if you do or don't count his last).
Avatar
will possibly turn out to be a good, nay, great movie too. We were just judging the trailer for what it looked like. There's nothing more to it. And Oddy liked it.
I (like all of us) love
Cameron
's movies, and have high hopes of this one. The trailer itself does nothing to excite us about the movie, but in a rare case that can be attributed to the man, it doesn't diminish interest either.
I just hope we get to watch the whole 25-minute IMAX preview here in Dubai too. Because reports say that it is MIND-BLASTING. My friend in NYC who saw it swears by it being something the mind has not experienced before. And as far as the movie's script is concerned, I don't think we need to worry about the man's story-telling skills.

Problem with most of these 3D experience movies is that they're shit w/o it. Except maybe Coraline (which I haven't watched it yet) and Polar Express (Ditto).

I don't know you guys are so against the trailer, it served it's purpose, showed us some great effects and a lite bit about the story. What more should a trailer do? Yes the expectations were huge and trailer keeps it's promise, I'm sure watching it on IMAX will be truly breathtaking.
So Delgo will file for a lawsuit but they might just settle out of the court.

A good friend of mine (and a veteran movie buff) attended the IMAX 3D trailer screening in Australia and, according to him, he's still trying to find all the fragments of his head.

Thats exactly why I am not going to watch it on the pc or a regular screen. Lets watch it how it was intended and then judge. Going by the reviews, I am sure it will be something very unique

I am about as big a Cameron fan as any one here. I don't think the man is capable of making a bad film, and I'm also an
Abyss
apologist, but that 2 minute trailer (not the IMAX clip which I've not seen), for what its worth, is bland. I'm not discussing factors such as how or where its meant to be seen, the marketing for this film is "off", including that crummy poster released earlier. I know I'll eat my words when the film comes out, but as it stands, first impressions have left me, and most others, rather cold.

"They said the 3D would be so good it'd be like having your eyeballs fucked!"
Hahaha!
I still prefer the Hitler GTA IV one. That was a killer!
