Any WearetheMovies Forum members reading this in the States, click this fast. You can experience what I already have, but can't say due to a gag order. Prepare yourself.

I always hear that and I am curious to know how does that work? I mean breaking a gag order, does that get you sued or does it get you excluded from future events?

If I'm unlucky, then both. In this particular case, I fear James Cameron, who may come after me personally! (Would you underestimate the creator of The Terminator?)

Avatar is out 18 December 2009 in US cinemas.

21 August is actually AVATAR DAY in the States, and people are being asked to reserve tickets to see *the extended trailer* in IMAX 3D!

You may think that's crazy, but its the only right way to experience Avatar is not on Apple.com/trailers, but in IMAX 3D! Like I had said earlier, this movie will bring people back to The Cinema.

Yeah you're right, he might be keeping an alien or two as well, lol.

No need for all that. An angry Jamie Lee Curtis is more than enough.

Apparently Cameron said something about how the extended ad would play on the 21st Worldwide on IMAX for free...but that was later refuted to mean in as many theaters as possible and not necessarily internationally. So far, no word on whether it will play in Dubai. Actually, the film doesn't even have a damn release date.

Just saw the teaser, and while the effects look good, they don't look too far ahead of what Star Wars has already shown us. I understand the effect possibly lies in 3D, or/& in the movie as a whole.

It utterly fails to do what any good trailer should do - excite me about the film.

I'm sure it's all state of the art effects, possibly great script etc, but the entire thing seems like a dozen other films - all of the images were reminiscent of scenes from Jurassic Park, Aliens, even Star Wars Clone Wars. Yawn.

More like Apocalypto meets Final Fantasy - The Spirits Within. And a lot of Atlantis (cartoon).

Most people don't understand that you get Avatar, you need to experience it in IMAX 3D, the way it is intended. Watching it on a computer screen is counterproductive. That said, I cannot argue with, say, Fizz's argument about the teaser itself (in terms of content, not form) not being able to excite the viewer.  That may very well be a failing.

I don't mean to sound uninterested or aloof about Avatar, because I am actually too excited and willing to go the distance to experience it the way it should when it is out, but for a film that its cost is reportedly $450 millions by this time, if IMAX is the only way to experience it properly, then it will be the biggest disaster in cinema history, because when word of mouth comes that it is not as good as it is hyped there will be a backlash or at least it won't be as big. I don't think there are enough such screen in America let alone the rest of the world. In the whole Gulf there is only the screen in Dubai. But if it is meant to be shown on digital 3D screens then it is a whole different story.

By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher
