Creep (2004)IMDB LinkSlashers have been made for the last 30 years and they have being made continuously. There is not much you can do with a slasher, and by all logic, this genre should have been dead by now. But, like a zombie, it keeps getting resurrected. Slasher is the rock and roll of the movie industry, no matter how many times critics claim its dead, a new one comes out that surprises the hell out of everyone.
Creep is not such an example.
There is nothing Creep offers that could set it apart from the many movies before it. We can accept the fact that not everyone can be a talented French director like Alexandre Aja and make Haute Tension. So, the only things that can be done is to either make the movie funny or extra gory. Creep does neither.
Set in a railway station (oooh, exciting), a young lady is stalked by some freaky looking mutant guy who screams in a high-pitched voice.
Actually, to be honest, I wasn’t exactly bored by the movie. It did not have many scares, but it did have decent amount of gore, and that’s all I ask for. And the filming was done well, better than most average slashers.
