Remember Parmeet Sethi? Kajol's fiance in DDLJ? Well that was 15 years ago... now Mr. Archana Puran Singh has turned director, and made a sincere film which is great in parts, and slow in others... Not your usual con caper, here 4 young people get together as friends, and make money by taking advantage of loop holes in the system. Or so they think... A complete surprise here is Anushka Sharma, the shy demure girl from 'Rab ne bana di jodi'... here she is the total extreme opposite of her character in her debut film, bold, independent, and sexy. Shahid Kapoor does well, especially when his character turns, and is ably supported by the other two friends, Meiyang Chang and Vir Das, who are not the 'side-kicks' but complete characters in their own right. In the recent past, we may not have got great films from Yash Raj, but their music has been good. Here though, the music is not at all memorable, something which would have added more points for the film. The way India and Bombay of the early 90s are described and depicted in the credits is amazing, and so is the end credits number, the title song. The fashion shown in the 90s though, is not accurate at all! Way too chic! All in all, decent entertainment, decent attempt and a decent watch. 3/5
