This film is a homage throwback to 80's horror films. It is set in the 1980s and its production design, score, sound tracks, and even the titles sequences all  belongs to that era. That is why this film kinda works, and ironically compared to today's horror, it looks absolutely fresh. Too bad the slow and deliberate buildup was so suspenseful and thrilling, but the payoff is mediocre at best. Anyway, if you are nostalgic for a horror films from your childhood era, you may wanna check it out. I would give it 3/5.

when there's a ghost in the house ?Y'all stay in the house too fuckin' long.
Get the fuck out of the house !"

"There's this whole school of thought that movies are always so great when you're 10 or 12 years old, and the reality of it is, when you're 10 or 12 years old, you've only seen 100 stories. By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher
