While Kangana was good, she repeated a neurotic performance, seen before in some of her other movies. Priyanka, on the other hand, did her first commercial lead role, in a female lead cast, which was serious drama, not comedy or action...
As I wrote in my review:
Fashion, an experience which is by far Madhur Bhandarkar's most realistic to date... Though Chandani Bar, Traffic Signal and Page 3, were very real, very few of us could relate to them because it was not part of our daily lives. Fashion, however, breaks that and connects us to a world which we are very much a part of
, so I definitely dont think it was his weakest attempt.

Fashion
was the weakest attempt by its accomplished director, and
Priyanka Chopra
was a pain to watch in it.
Kangana Ranaut
was better than her by miles!
Have to agree...but Fashion and Jodha Akbar were both horrible efforts from directors who can offer much much better.

Fashion should put Priyanka's acting skills issue to rest, she did a phenomenal job. Also, Hrithik as Akbar was a role of a lifetime, which he embodied very well. Both Priyanka and Hrithik have won all the major awards for lead actors for the above two films respectively.
Well then we will have to agree to disagree on that Sandeep. Regarding Hirthik, it is not that he was bad in
Jodhaa Akbar
, not at all. It is just the role really didn't give him a chance to show his acting muscles. He is a handsome man who can dance really well. He aslo has a great deal of charm. Even in a deeply flawed film like
Doom2
he can make it work because roles like that is his forte. Here he got to do some sword fighting scenes, and rest of it was playing house with Ash, not really a compelling watch and certaialy not much done to get a best actor node.
As for Ms. Chopra, the only time I saw her shine on the screen was early in her career when she stole the lime light from Karena Kapoor in
Aitraaz
, but that was in 2004 and 5 years is a long time in Bollywood sarlets years

Hrithik prepared and shot for that role for 2 years. His body language, voice, expressions, were stretched more than they ever have before. Priyanka has always been a leading lady with very little to do. Aitraaz was one of her best, but Fashion, is her 'awards horse' (as someone said so for 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button')

You think Priyanka can pull it off playing so many different roles? I don't really think she is that good.

I know from her designer and other inside people that she has worked very hard for this role, stretched herself beyond duty, working 22 hours at a stretch. Lets hope it pays off for her sake.
