WM Forum Film Club

The idea behind the
WM Forum Film Club
is to watch a movie per month based on the suggestion/ choice of its members. At the beginning of each month, a member of the forum and the film-club will post his selection. On the 25th of the same month, we all post our reviews/views/comments/notes on the movie in its dedicated thread that will be in its appropriate section.

I have an idea, why don't we start a film club. Here's how it works, every month a different member selects a film for us to review as an assignment. Then each one submits his review to a moderator who post all of them simultaneously.
I think that it would be a good idea for us to learn from each other and grow as a film community. What do you guys think?

Good Idea. And we can rotate the choice of film from member to member each month. One movie a month is doable.

We've had variations of this in the past, but a new initiative is now needed -- thanks, Ayaa.
If someone can get the ball rolling on this...

Come on guys, let's role it! I vote for madali to moderate it and you AK to select the first film, because a) you are the admin here b) and because if we go alphabetically you would be the first.

I like ayaa's suggestion of going alphabetically to select the "curator"
. As long as we keep it once a month for now, it should be manageable.

Okay, okay, I'll be the first guinea pig...
I'll set up the rules and format, then select the film choice for our pilot episode -- you know, make it real easy for ya guys. Give me a few days.

Good. So the Schedule would be:
Jun-09 ak
Jul-09 anime
Aug-09 ayaa
Sep-09 fizz
Oct-09 kaytee
Nov-09 madali
Jan-10 oddball
Feb-10 ozzylogic
Mar-10 shariqq
* I've left out Dec-09 for DIFF.
** I've included those who comment on and watch movies more regularly. Sandeep, Sulphurhead, Safra, etc - let us know if you want to join this club and I'll add your names to this. If any of the above want to be out, let us know too.

After I'm through with you guys, you will embrace Sandeep's
KANK
torture with a smile on your face and a song in your heart.
And good work with the schedule, Shariq.

Lol...and you guys know that Terrence Malick has a filmography of only 4 films, so chances are you've already seen what I'll recommend

This much I promise: my selection will be -- at least an attempt to be -- a movie I believe others here have not seen. I may also attempt for it to have, at least on a basic level, some entertainment value!
