In the late 90's I listened to "Savage Garden" super hit song "Truly, Madly, Deeply", and I immediately fell in love with this Australian group. But after their second album the two members group disbanded and left us with two perfect albums I still have and listen to.

The lead singer Darren Hayes went solo and he accomplished some success, but now as much as he got when he was in the group. This song Insatiable is a must hear for everyone who like pop love ballads. It has tender lyrics, touching music, all shot in a simplistic retro style classy video. So I hope you'll like it:

I remember, back in the 90's, a young British singer from an Emirati ancestry, named Layla Kaylif, rose to fame with her songs from the soundtracks of Shakespeare in Love . It was a big deal then because we didn't have Arab singers made it with such a high profile songs. Anyway, the girl disappeared from the scene later and all we have are those songs:

Apricot Time, which is my favorite:

and Shakespeare in Love:

Boy do I miss the 90's!!

Allow me to trespass on your shuffle, Ayaa.

I think this thread is now in desperate need of a 100cc hetero-macho-testosterone injection. Mr. Thread, please pull your pants down. You might feel a slight prick.

True but St.Anger sucked and you know it.

"There's this whole school of thought that movies are always so great when you're 10 or 12 years old, and the reality of it is, when you're 10 or 12 years old, you've only seen 100 stories. By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher

It was the most reviled Metallica album, I agree. But I personally liked it for what it is. It grows on you.

St. Anger is not an easy one. Takes the most loyal of Metallica's fans for it.

I'm happier with the Black Album.

Oddy, perhaps I feel secure enough about my manhood to admit that I enjoy listening to mushy boy-bands, pop divas, Enya, watching chick flicks,  Desperate housewives, and cry at the movies. As for Metal and Hard Rock, I never really enjoyed this kind of music, to me it is not much than noise.

Anyway, I listened to the songs your guys presented, and I have to say that I dig the song Unforgiven. As for the others, they suck ass.

If starting with the Black Album, it is very easy to get addicted to Metallica. During my High School years, "Nothing Else Matters" was an anthem I listened to every morning and night. And "Enter Sandman" is by far the best Heavy Metal song I have heard.

The 80's that gave us Madonna, Gloria Estefan, Cyndi Lauper, and Paula Abdul, also gave us the pride of Germany: Sandra. Pop divas didn't get more cheesy than back then. Still, nostalgia makes us miss all that cheese.

Anyway, here is one of Sandra's most decent songs Maria Magdalena

Today I will go Bollywood with an oldie but goldie. I will yet again try to stir good old memories with the 80's and Pehle Pehle Pyaar Ke from the film Ilzam. I am sure you guys are familiar with this one but it I wanna share it with you anyway:

It is indeed a beautiful and classic song

The King of The Pop is dead, after a short and turbulent life. From the age of 10 he showed his brilliance, and at the age of 20 he was all ready in a league of his own.

So to remember him, and instead of his more bombastic tones, I chose this peaceful song: Will You Be There from his 1991's album Dangerous:

Here's one of my favorites, from the same album. To me this is an underrated MJ masterpiece.

This song is one of my favorite too. It is a song that I find myself singing it a lot lately. He did define Pop music in the last 30 years, and although he was distracted with all the hooplas of his personal affairs in the last 15 years, he accomplished in his short life more success than what a dozen other singers would ever accomplish in their lives collectively.
