Freaking awesome...A Korean vampire movie, where the vampire is a priest, how radical is that?

Aweosme. And it stars Kang-ho Song too! How many good movies can this man do? The Good, the Bad, the Weird + The Host + Sympathy for Lady Vengeance + Sympathy for Mr Vengeance + Memories of a Murder... What a resume!

I have confirmation that Park Chan-wook's Thirst was picked up by Focus Features and hits US cinemas mid-July. It is first premiering at Cannes.

Shocked that's so unexpected because of many reasons.1)picking up an asian film from Cannes in May and releasing it as soon as mid july is something i've never heard of before, usually it takes a year if not more for a foreign film to get to US cinemas(e.g. "Ponyo").this will probably be the fastest asian release of all time seeing how the movie just opened last week in Korea.i'm glad this is happening, hopefully this happens to other foreign films too.2)this is an already busy year for Focus Features,in fact it's their busiest year,so far.http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=51882 3)Focus Features never pick up asian films, this will be their first if you don't include "Lust, Caution".

anyways,i'm glad this was picked by Focus Features, this means there's a big chance now we get this in the gulf.

"There's this whole school of thought that movies are always so great when you're 10 or 12 years old, and the reality of it is, when you're 10 or 12 years old, you've only seen 100 stories. By the time you get to be 25, you've seen 3,000. You've seen every permutation of every dramatic arc. And when somebody takes that and stands it on its head, that can be exciting." David Fincher

I've seen only Oldboy form Chan-Wook Park but I loved it. I got the other two movies to complete the vengeance trilogy but no time to see it.

For his new film, I would definitely watch it. Chan-Wook Park is a genius.

As Shariq will tell you, the original played here, but was dubbed...

Oh Crap! Why would they do that?  I understand Europeans sentiment of dubbing Hollywood flicks in their languages. It is a national pride thing. But why would an Arab country opts to show a film dubbed in English and then add Arabic subtitles, that is just stupid.
