And I thought the man sank to his lowest with The Happening, I stand corrected.

I guess its safe to say that Shyamalan's career is pretty much in the dumps now. Three turds in a row is beyond forgivable.

ya know recently for my birthday i indulged myself by buying loads of DVDs,i bought the M. Night Shyamalan Vista Series Collection (The Sixth Sense/Signs/Unbreakable) boxset.i figured in a few years this boxset will be a valuable item,ya know...the only good movies Shyamalan made.

did you anyone read about what he is gonna do next? apparently, he is producing a bunch of low budget horror movies.

Soon we shall see him making movies that star Jackie Shroff and Mithun da. I doubt he can survive this, no studio or financier will back him unless he runs to someone in India to help him out with a flick.

The movie is getting an extremely  negative response. We all knew that the fast-food 3D conversion was a mistake. I'll watch this in 2D anyway, just to judge for myself.

If the movie is as bad as everyone says, I wish Shyamalan an easy death (from filmdom).

I don't think this film will be his end. I know the guy is the epitome for dimension return as a filmmaker from artistic point of view, but other factors should be considered, so here is my analysis for his filmography:

1. The Sixth Sense: arguably his biggest success to date critically and commercially, with 6 Oscar nominations, 85% on RT and about $673 millions in worldwide gross.

2. Unbreakable: Was less successful with critics and commercially, beloved by fanboys all over the world, 68% on RT, $248 millions in worldwide gross.

3. Signs: Very successful and well done enjoyable suspense horror. A smash hit with $408 millions gross worldwide, and %74 on RT.

4. The Village: Not a bad film at all, an average suspense drama. A commercial success with a $257 millions gross worldwide, and it only cost $60 to make. It got 43% on RT.

5. Lady in The Water: His only commercially failed film as if yet, it cost $70 to make and only grossed $72 millions worldwide. RT meter but it at 24%. As a film it was more of a misfire, but it was watchable nonetheless.

6. The Happening: This was really bad film, a boring and pathetic dud anyway you look at. There is no excuse for it, and it doesn't even deserve to be called "so bad it is good". I hated it with a vengeance. On RT meter it has 18%, but that being said it was a mid-level success commercially, it cost $48 millions and it grossed $163 millions worldwide.

In conclusion, surely his resume looks worst by every film he releases, but as a money maker for the studios he has been delivering the goods. He already has his next gig ready with Bruce Willis, Gwyneth Paltrow and Bradley Cooper attached to it. So I think he is not totally fucked, at least not just yet.

$33M in two days, expected to touch $70M by the end of the long weekend. Now that's impressive, considering the reviews it is getting.

On the note of reviews: The movie is getting a LOT of hate from critics (8% after 111 reviews on RT), but the general public seems to be rating it above average. RT Community has rated it at 60% after 24,790 votes. IMDb's rating has gone up to 4.7 as of this writing with 2,868 votes. Signs that the movie is not as bad as the critics make it out to be?

We shall see in a couple of weeks. But there is no way I am watching it in 3D. Anyway Shyamalan proves yet again that despite all that hate he is getting lately from the critics, rightfully so I may add, he is still a bankable director and will have a long and winding career in Hollywood, a town that is primary motivated by making money. If the duo who makes the shitty spoof films can get work there, I think it's safe to say so does he.
