Just started watching the first season of
The Office (US/NBC)
.
Watched the first episode last night and I have to say
Steve Carrell
has this screen presence that is rarely seen in anyone. His character thinks he's the coolest, funniest, best boss ever - which, of course, makes him the uncoolest, most obnoxious and annoying boss ever.
Having read a little about this show people dont seem to like the first couple of episodes as they still prefer the UK version of
The Office
. I personally havent seen the UK version so I can't compare but the US version has started off pretty well for me.
More on this once I finish the short 1st Season.

Thanks Fizz, but will take a raincheck on that and will stick to the US version for now. Maybe coz I can relate to it better
and can understand the dialect better too. That cocky accent always confuses me.
But I mite come back to haunt u later.

The UK version is excellent, but the US version really gets things rolling on Season 2. God, just thinking about The Office makes me happy.

Just finished the second season and I have to say that this was one of the funniest comedies after a pretty mediocre first season. It also features one of the best on screen romances on TV (yes better than Ross and Rachel) between Pam Beasley and Jim Halpert.
Also the situations created by Jim to get Dwight pissed off are great, imagine these:
Jim pays coworkers five dollars to call Dwight "Dwayne" for an entire day, he relocated Dwight's desk to the men's restroom, he placed Dwight's wallet and desk items in the company vending machine, which he had to buy back with a bag of nickels.
All the above were really hilarious and the acting by the leads are dead on and how can I forget Steve Carrell who is the actual Captain of the ship.
A great series and a great finale...Can't wait for the 3rd season now after that finale...

I prefer the U.K. version, but the U.S. version is still hilarious.

The Office
is back today and I can't wait for the torrents to hit the web.

The Office

None of TV's myriad will-they-or-won't-they couples is as subtle or as poignant as Jim and Pam (John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer, pictured). Tonight we learn what happened after Jim put the pucker on Pam in the season 2 finale. But we want more spoiler-type stuff from exec producer Greg Daniels. ''No, I really couldn't,'' he says. We act hurt. He feels bad, perhaps fears we might take away his Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series. ''Some doors open, some doors close,'' he says. Oh, forget it — just keep making us squirm in awkward delight and all will be good.

Anyone who has not been watching this series is insane. I just can't believe how each episode is damn good.

The latest episode of
The Office
was "Diwali". And it had to be the funniest of the season yet. I was laughing so hard that I was crying. I know most of you are not following this show but I am hooked on to the cynical humour that every character expresses throughout.
***Major Spoilers Alert***
As the office has an Indian colleague (Kelly) they want to celebrate Diwali the Indian way but unfortunately no one knows what Diwali is all about.
So Michael (Steve Carell) steps up and says
"Diwali. It's like Indian Halloween."
Michael plans a mini cultural seminar in the conference room and asks for someone to explain what Diwali is:
Dwight:
Diwali is a celebration of the coronation god king Rama after his epic battle with Ravana, the demon king of Lanka. It symbolizes the battle between good and evil.
Michael:
All right, all right. This isn't Lord of the Rings.
Michael also shows a photo presentation showing the famous Indians in the world:
Michael: Here are some famous Indians. Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar. He is a Nobel Prize winning physicist.
Apu from the Simpsons, hilarious Indian
